Keira Knightley Wins Damages Over Anorexia Article
Keira Knightley has been awarded $6,000 (£3,000) damages from a newspaper over an article which linked her to a girl’s death from anorexia.
The Daily Mail ran a photograph of Knightley on a beach in a bikini together with the headline “If pictures like this one of Keira carried a health warning, my darling daughter might have lived” in the article about 19-year-old Sophie Mazurek’s death from the eating disorder.
Keira’s solicitor said it was “deeply offensive” to imply the ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ actress had an eating disorder and was partly responsible for the teen’s death.
