Keanu as Klaatu is No 1 at the Box Office
‘The Day the Earth Stood Still’ grabbed the number one spot for the weekend box office. As Keanu Reeves would say, “Whoa.” The sci-fi remake of the over-rated 1951 cult film took in $31 million in the US, and $70 million worldwide. That’s a lot of coin for a movie that sucks.
Keanu played the alien Klaatu who must judge the human race and Jennifer Connelly played as an astrobiologist on whom the world’s fate depends. The movie also starred Will Smith’s kid, Jaden Smith, and Kathy Bates.
