Health Ledger Is ‘The Big Story’ in Movies in 2008
The death of actor Heath Ledger, who was on the cusp of breaking into mega celebrity thanks to his performance in ‘The Dark Knight,’ was voted as the biggest movie news story in 2008. Over 3.5 million votes were cast in the December poll at AOL’s Moviefone.com deciding on the best and worst movie events for the year.
Ledger, whose death at age 28 in January 2008 of an accidental prescription drugs overdose shocked the world, received a whooping 83 percent of votes as the biggest movie news of the year.
