Actor Ben Affleck is claiming that many of Hollywood’s big names are simply seeking publicity when doing charity work. The star - who has made three trips to Africa in the last eight months - returned from his own humanitarian mission in Africa’s Democratic Republic of Congo in May.

He says, “Here I am, this actor. There’s the potential for one of these cliche actors showing up out of the middle of nowhere in Africa. It’s really critical for me to learn and to understand and not to be some outsider who shows up and says, ‘I know what’s happening and I know what should be done.’

Senator Barack Obama this week denied that he had a running e-mail relationship with Scarlett Johansson. “You’d imagine that someone like the senator who is constantly traveling and constantly ‘on’ — how can he return these personal e-mails?” the actress told the website Politico a couple of weeks ago. “But he does.”

“She sent one e-mail to Reggie, who forwarded it to me,” Obama said matter-of-factly, referring to his personal assistant, Reggie Love. “I write saying, ‘Thank you Scarlett for doing what you do,’ and suddenly we have this ‘e-mail relationship’.” BURN!

Amy Winehouse has developed emphysema from smoking drugs. Mitch Winehouse told the Daily Mail: “With smoking the crack cocaine and the cigarettes her lungs are all gunked up. There are nodules around the chest and dark marks. She’s got 70 percent lung capacity.”
