Ashlee Simpson and Fall Out Boy Pete Wentz will officially exchange eyeliners … er, rings. They’re engaged! and want everyone to know about this “very private matter” - by telling all the tabloids about it.
“We know there has been a lot of speculation recently about Pete and I, and we wanted our fans to be the first to know, because you guys are the best,” Simpson said in a statement to People magazine. “Yes, we are thrilled to share that we are happily engaged.”
The British must have dusted off some long-forgotten, archaic law and finally found a reason to send Pete Doherty off to jail for a few weeks. The country’s celebrity catch-and-release program has run out of excuses for letting the often-arrested Babyshambles frontman walk away this time. He’s going away for 14 weeks for violating probation. 
Simon Cowell recently admitted that he finds his show ‘American Idol’ to be “mind-numbingly boring” and can’t even be bothered to hide his true feelings: “It’s a reality show.
