Pop prince Justin Timberlake leads the nominees for this year’s MTV Europe Music Awards, with four nominations.

Timberlake - who won four trophies at the MTV’s Video Music Awards earlier this month - is trailed by Beyonce, Amy Winehouse and Rihanna, who have three nominations each.

Nelly Furtado, Fall Out Boy, Avril Lavigne, Linkin Park and My Chemical Romance also have triple nods.

Bon Jovi’s Richie Sambora has checked himself into the same Utah rehab facility as the Mean Girls star Lindsay Lohan. The rocker had done a detox stint in June at the UCLA Medical Center after confessing he was an alcoholic but apparently needs more work.

In an interview after his brief rehab stay in June, Sambora said, “I was just drinking too much and I needed to get my life together…”

George Clooney suffered a fractured rib after being knocked off his motorcycle by a car in New Jersey on Friday, the star’s spokesperson says.

The Hollywood actor and his ‘girlfriend’ Sarah Larson, who broke her foot in the incident, were treated at Manhattan’s Palisades Medical Center and later released.

“He was treated for a hairline fracture of a rib and road rash,” Clooney’s spokesperson said.

More trouble for Britney Spears. The troubled pop tart has been charged with misdemeanour counts of hit and run and driving without a valid license after allegedly crashing her car into another in a parking lot.

Spears could be jailed for up to six months and be given a $1,000 fine for each count, a spokesperson for the city attorney’s office said.

Scary Spice Melanie Brown has attacked reports that she abandoned her kids in order to elope to Las Vegas to marry producer Stephen Belafonte.

Mel B labeled reports that she left her baby daughter with her housekeeper for several days to wed as “fictitious”.

Her former housekeeper, Tonia Lamere, claimed: “One evening of baby-sitting turned into four days. The child was sick, there was no nanny, and when Mel called, she never even asked about the baby.”

Lohan is said to have had a fling with Tony Allen, a musician and father of two, after the pair met at a Utah rehab center over the summer.

Snoop Dogg has been sentenced to three years’ informal probation and 160 hours of community service, after pleading guilty to possessing a collapsible baton in his bag at a Californian airport.

The rap star was arrested at John Wayne Airport last September. Snoop claimed the baton, which authorities class as a dangerous weapon, was a prop for a video he was filming in New York.
